Can you help if my LDV keys are locked inside or stolen?

Absolutely. If your LDV has self-locked with the keys inside, our locksmiths use non-destructive entry techniques to safely regain access without damaging the vehicle. If your keys have been stolen, we can deactivate the missing keys from the immobiliser memory, re-code locks where possible, and restore your vehicle’s security on site.

What happens if I’ve lost all keys for my LDV van?

If all keys are lost, we can still create and program a replacement key. First, we decode one of the vehicle locks to produce a mechanical key that operates the doors and ignition. We then program the transponder key directly into the vehicle ECU through the OBD communication port so the vehicle will start correctly.

What makes Land Rover key programming more specialist than other vehicles?

Many Land Rover and Range Rover vehicles use encrypted rolling-code immobiliser systems that require advanced programming procedures. In some cases, we use EEPROM programming techniques to extract vehicle-specific immobiliser data directly from the ECU or security system and transfer it to the replacement transponder chip. This allows us to program replacement keys without the long delays often associated with dealerships.

Can you unlock my Lancia without damaging the vehicle?

Absolutely. If your Lancia has self-locked with the keys inside, our locksmiths use specialist non-destructive vehicle entry methods to safely regain access without damaging the locks, windows, or bodywork. We also provide emergency and out-of-hours assistance across Manchester and surrounding areas.

Why do Lancia replacement keys often take longer through dealerships?

Most Lancia vehicles use Fiat-based immobiliser technology with pre-coded transponder systems that contain vehicle-specific security data. Because of this, dealerships often need to order replacement keys directly from Italy before programming can begin. Our mobile auto locksmith specialists can usually complete the process much faster using advanced key programming and immobiliser diagnostic equipment.

What type of transponder systems do Kia vehicles use?

Kia vehicles built from the late 1990s onwards use transponder immobiliser systems for improved security. Earlier models commonly used Megamos type 13 fixed-code chips, while newer Kia vehicles often use rolling-code systems such as Texas Crypto 4D type 60 and Philips Crypto type 46 (T14) transponders.

These systems generate changing security codes every time the vehicle starts, requiring specialist equipment for key programming.
