What types of transponder and immobiliser systems do Nissan vehicles use?

Nissan vehicles built from 1995 onwards use transponder immobiliser systems for added security. Earlier models commonly used Philips type 33 fixed-code transponders (T5 chips), while later vehicles introduced rolling-code crypto systems including Philips type 41, Texas Crypto 4D, and Philips Crypto type 46 transponders. These systems generate changing security codes every time the vehicle starts, making unauthorised duplication far more difficult.

Can you replace my Nissan key if all keys are lost?

Yes. We can usually supply, cut, and program replacement Nissan keys even in complete all-keys-lost situations. For many Nissan models, we can retrieve or extract the immobiliser PIN code needed for programming and then introduce the new key directly to the vehicle through the OBD communication system using specialist diagnostic equipment.
